An African father of age 75 years in ICT

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Pa Thomas Mbah is an old man of age 75 years after serving with the Santa Area Cooperative for 35 years as a storekeeper and stores manager, was on retirement, feeling very bored at home, he decided to enroll in a computer training centre in Santa town for a 6 months computer course.

Mr Ntirenganya Emmanuel Arnaud a missionary from Rwanda in Cameroon who is also a BBC Club member interviewed this father why he decided to go into ICT at this age.

Pa Thomas  further said that after his computer course he will enroll in the linguistic centre in Bamenda town inorder to  perfect his french language skills in both written and spoken since Cameroon is a bilingual country.

This was  very surprising to Mr. Ntirenganya  Arnaud because many young people  especially  students run away from learning french in Secondary, High School and professional training centres in Cameroon.
