LITTLE INTERNET CAFE INSTALLED WITH LTSP IN A BOOK SHOP IN BAMENDA
SOLIDARITY PROJECT FOR CAMEROON
In a bookshop in Bamenda is a ltsp (Linux Terminal Server Project)
internet cafe is now open.
In the areal of the baptist convention, there is a litlle bookshop. It
was decided to install internet with 4 machines in this place. in the
convention they had a few machines, so we decide to install a ltsp
network. we found a pentium 3 with 1 ghz and 10 giga hard disk.
we take it as server and we install edubuntu version 7.04. after many
tests, many shortcut of the current, we had to change the harddisk, the
cd was not going and so on and so on. At least we could finish the
installation of the server.
for the clients it was worse. we test many machines until we find 3 machines which really work.
it is the mirror of the situation here in africa: it is very difficult to find material, which works
