MEETING 9

REPORT OF MEETING ON 4th AUGUST 2007

The meeting started at 2.30 pm late and followed the normal procedures of our regular meetings. There were three new members. There was the reading of the report of last meeting. Matters arising from the last report were resolve as follows:-

1) That members should endeavour to respect the time to go to the internet as agreed in the previous meeting i.e on Wednesday as from 12.00pm to 1.00pm and also from 4.00pm upwards. Miss Chanceline reported that our oversea partners were on the internet waiting to chat with members and nobody was online.

2) It was strongly recommended that all members of the group should give their opinions using the email address lugbamenda@immerda.ch within the week. Members were adviced to write whatever they think about the group be it good or bad. It was agreed that as UBUNTU and LINUX is a free and open source software which the group is promoting, we should equally be open and feel free to express our minds.

3) The plan of activities for the SFD was well analysed, some practical demonstrations were made on Drama and the Debate. All the items on the plan of activities on the 15th of September 2007 was carefully discussed and some conclusion arrived at.

4) Miss Chanceline talked on dedicated members of the group, she adviced members to be regular in meeting and participate inorder to be considered as dedicated members. However it was still reconfirmed that a member must attend atleast 10 meetings before obtaining a membership card or fill a membership form which will be produced. It was agreed that the first dedicated members will be crown on the 15th of September 2007 during the occasion of the SOFTWARE FREEDOM DAY celebration.

5) There was a class on HTML presented by Mr. Beukam Maurice, this was like his second class on HTML for the group. Mr Beukam Maurice and Miss Chanceline are prepared to teach a one month course on HTML which was agreed to begin on Saturday 11th of August 2007. Members were told to invite as many people as possible for this course. Mr Maurice assured members that they will be able to create HOME PAGES with HTML immediately after the course.

6) The meeting ended with snap shots at 5.00pm. It was reported that Mr Tifang Peter a member of the group was sick and admitted in the Hospital.
