LINUX USER GROUP (LUG) BAMENDA, NWP CAMEROON
MEETING 19
The meeting started at 3.00pm with an opening prayer by Sayah Frida. The main aim of the meeting was to condole with Mr Maurice for the lost of his father. The ubuntu solidarity song was sang.
Mr Maurice welcome members to his house, he presented his family and gave a brief history about his late father presenting photographs of the funeral programme.
Mr Simon Tefoit gave greetings and introduced himself as a brother in-law to Mr Maurice. Mr Tefoit was married to Mr Maurice's sister who pass away in April 2007 after leaving with Mr. Simon for 3 months.
There was presentation of gift to Mr Maurice by Mr Chi David on behalf of the group. It was reported that Chanceline travelled to Yaounde to help the Linux Users Group.
There was also a brief meeting to discuss group issues. Mr Maurice emphasize on the issue of projects he said a project should not only be ideas, he said a project should have a budget and a calendar of activities.
The following projects were highlighted to be the focus for the group.

Teaching of more awareness, HTML and distribution of Live CD's to members of the group.

Carryout a statistics of members with computers and those without computers.

A Cyber Cafe and a complete documentation centre was recommended as a project that can bring income into the group.

Another project recommended by group members was the installation of LUG computers in some primary, secondary or higher instutions of learning for training of students with a group member teaching there . It was accepted that a careful selection of these schools will be carryout through applications.
It was agreed that members should be very serious with the issues of the group, It was also agreed that the group should be able to creat jobs, for some members. Inaddition it was agreed that the project is not only for the North West Province,but a solidarity project for Cameroon and Africa.
Mr Maurice gave the closing remarks thanking everybody present. The meeting ended at 5.30pm with serious singing of the Ubuntu Solidarity song and photographs.
