LINUX USER GROUP (LUG) BAMENDA, NWP CAMEROON
MEETING 17
The meeting started at about 1.15pm,there was welcome of new members by NgainkuChanceline,Mr frans barah visited the meeting for his first time.he said,he is working with SIL,a nonprofit organisation that has been involved since 1968 in the development of cameroonian national languages,he said he has been trying to learn Linux on his own.When he head of the Linux User Group of Bamenda he was very happy,he has fedoral core but would like to have an edubuntu cd to install in his laptop.he came with a laptop and in it was intalled ubuntu he made us to understand that it was installed by Pauli Michel the first time he came to cameroon and as he work on it daily he has learn many things and would like to join the Linux User group of Bamenda
Chanceline made the Linux Users to understand what GNOME,Ubuntu,and Edubuntu is all about,she said this are free software which are usable,stable,and accessible,she explain that ubuntu is and operating system built around the linux kernel and that many operating system based on Linux include Debian and SuSE.She said the free software is good for young human beings and that people are encourage to used the free sotfware, improve it and pass it on
Chanceline also gave some lessons on html.
During the meeting it was reported that Mr Chi David had common cold and could not come for the meeting,Mr Maurice Beukam could not also come for the meeting because he lost his father and the berial was that same meeting day at Baham.
The Linux Users Group of Bamenda extend their heart felt condolence to the berieft family

She says:
It is a great joy and privilege to come in contact with such a group ,while studying in Germany some years ago at the TU Berlin,reading technische informatik (Computer Engineer),it was my dream to get my home community of computer scientist benefit from the priviledges of using the Linux Operating System.Now that i have come in contact with the Linux User Group in Bamenda, a yound dynamic and aspiring team ,i am looking forward to working with them so as to develop software packages as well as sensitize others on the benefits of using Linux.I thank God for his overeign leading and timing.
I wish that working together with this Linux user group will not only be beneficiary here in Bamenda and Cameroon but also in other African countries as well.
